Our primary livestock at this time are Mulefoot hogs and Idaho Pasture pigs. The Mulefoot is an American hog breed that is named for its most distinctive feature, the solid, non-cloven hoof which looks like the hoof of a mule. The Mulefoot breed is critically rare. As of 2006 there are fewer than 200 purebred hogs documented. They are very docile pigs, curious of new people, but very protective of their babies. In July 2015 we brought another breed of pigs to the farm, Idaho Pasture pigs. Idaho Pasture pigs are a colorful breed with unique markings and are known for excellent, red marbled meat and are an extremely gentle pig that is pasture based. They have really short, upturned snouts that are perfect for grazing.
