First off, my name is Brad Dilts. I grew up near Sedgwick, farming with my family on 2000 acres until my dad passed on in 1995. Over the next few years our land got whittled away by competition from other conventional farmers. Ten years ago, my Mom, Carol, and her new husband, Carl, went completely chemical free on the remaining land, beginning the slow process of healing the soil. I went to K-State for my B.S. in Biological and Agricultural Engineering, followed by Iowa State for my M.S. in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering. I am married to the perfect woman (for me!), Tiffany, who has blessed me with 6 awesome children - Ray (9), Sam (7), Lindsey (nearly 6), Hannah, (4), Isaac (2), and Joshua (born July 2015). For the last 8 years I worked as a design engineer for CNH and then Krause while my wife and I worked and prayed for an opportunity to get back to farming full-time. Tiffany (Tiff) grew up in Des Moines, IA, the daughter of a pediatric nurse and retired Vietnam veteran. She has a degree in Criminal Justice from Simpson College. She jumped right into the country life though, and has kept a garden along with the house and homeschooling our children. Ray is an avid reader and budding entrepreneur, weaving hot pads for sale at craft shows in order to earn money for developing his flock of lambs. Sam is always at Ray's side, as well as helping with the odd jobs here and there. He enjoys woodworking projects and hopes to soon start raising meat rabbits. Lindsey is our big adventurer, always getting into stuff, but also a big sweetheart that loves spending time in the shop with Dad and helping Mom in the kitchen. Hannah is Lindsey's mini-me, attached to her hip most of the time. She's our tiny one, but she is mighty! Isaac loves anything trucks or tractors and wants to ride in both! He loves to tag along with dad while working outside and loves visiting with our customers.. He loves being outside on the sand pile or being pushed in his swing. Joshua, our youngest, loves to be in the middle of it all and won't stand to be left behind. He loves to be outside and will be a huge help this year helping pick vegetables in the gardens. He has is own distinct personality just like the rest of us!
